Boston DITA User’s Group: Developing a DITA Content Model

When information architecture projects come under tight deadlines, the content model is often the first thing that gets cut. Because of this, many information architects haven’t had sufficient opportunity to gain experience and develop the necessary skills to create effective content models.

The truth is, taking the time to create a content model (even one that isn’t perfect) can save you and your team significant time and effort in the proposal and implementation phases. With the right strategies, you can leverage work you did earlier in the IA development process—such as analyzing deliverables and content--to quickly assemble a content model that accurately and effectively communicates your design to team members and stakeholders.

At the Boston DITA User’s Group’s March 2022 meeting, Amber Swope shared her method for developing DITA content models.

This webinar is available at the Boston DITA User’s Group’s website.
